🔒 Privacy
This is a small personal blog, not a business collecting your data. Here’s exactly what happens when you visit.
Hosting
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log basic request data (like IP address) for security and operational purposes, as described in GitHub’s own privacy statement.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies
This site doesn’t run Google Analytics, ad networks, or any tracking scripts of its own. There’s no cookie banner because there’s nothing here for a cookie to track.
What this site stores in your browser
A couple of small, non-tracking things are saved locally in your browser (localStorage), and never sent anywhere:
- Your light/dark mode preference
- Whether you’ve already “toasted” a specific blog post (so the button doesn’t let you double-count yourself)
Third-party embeds
Some blog posts include embedded content from other services, which load their own scripts and may set their own cookies when they appear on the page:
- Strava activity maps (Strava’s privacy policy)
- A small anonymous hit counter for the “Toast this post” button (abacus.jasoncameron.dev)
- Google Fonts (for the site’s typeface)
None of these are things I control, and I don’t receive any personal data from them.
